Blending research
with resilience

Cancer Exercise is spearheaded by Dr. Anna L. Schwartz, a celebrated oncology exercise researcher. Her life’s work has been centered around the powerful link between physical activity and cancer recovery.

Groundbreaking research, real-world applications

Dr. Schwartz’s expertise is internationally recognized, with her research receiving support from prestigious institutions, including the National Institutes of Health. She’s taken a leading role in collaborating with organizations like YMCA-USA and LIVESTRONG to develop cancer survivor exercise programs that are being leveraged across the globe.

Her leadership was instrumental in co-chairing the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) roundtable that set forth exercise guidelines for cancer survivors. Her commitment to this cause has led to the development of the ACSM Cancer and Exercise Trainer certification program and The Essentials of Exercise Oncology textbook.
